The European Center of Japanese Martial Arts (Budo) recently hosted the annual, impeccably organized event “Gasshuku 2026” by our Polish colleagues. This year’s international seminar gathered 250 participants from 12 different countries, featuring over 16 hours of deep, intensive practice in the main martial arts hall (Dojo).
This world-class center—Dojo Stara Wieś—holds a prominent place on my martial arts journey, representing a bridge between elite competitive achievements and international expert recognition. My relationship with this unique venue began back in 2009 during its official grand opening, where I was invited to compete in the prestigious World Cup and proudly finished on the podium among the world’s top masters. Following that milestone, we continued to strengthen our professional ties by participating as a group in joint winter and summer training camps, training alongside the Polish National Traditional Karate Team.
The most significant chapter of this journey began in 2020. Since then, I have been invited annually to this European center as an international seminar instructor. It is a profound honor and professional privilege to teach and share knowledge as part of an elite instructor team alongside 7 of the world’s most renowned masters and ITKF authorities, including: Prof. Dr. Gilberto Gaertner (Brazil), Justo Gómez (Argentina), Mohamed Fawzy (Egypt), Cornel Musat (Romania), Paweł Janusz (Poland), and Włodzimierz Kwieciński. The invaluable international experience and highest-level methodology gained through this collaboration are directly passed down to every student in our academy.
