GASSHUKU 2023

„Gasshuku 2023, the most important training camp of this year’s Polish Union of Traditional Karate (Polska Unija Karate Tradicyjnego), is already in the past. More than 200 participants gathered under the roof of Dojo Stara Wieś, including karatekas from Argentina, Romania, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Great Britain. For five intensive days – 11-15 August 2023 – we trained under the guidance of excellent instructors from Poland and abroad. Sensei Wlodzimierz Kwiecinski 9 Dan (World Traditional Karate Federation, President), – Sensei Justo Gomez 7 Dan (International Traditional Karate Federation, Technical Committee), Argentina, – Sensei Rytis Bublevičius 6 Dan, Karate Academy, Lithuania, shared their inspiring knowledge with us. Gasshuku is a meeting of people who are passionate about karate, open to continuous improvement and searching for new ways. Lithuanian masters consisted of 9 representatives. During this year’s meeting, together with sensei Wlodzimierz Kwiecinski, we also celebrated the 50th anniversary of his karate activity and path. During the Sayonara party we watched a film prepared especially for this occasion, which took us on a nostalgic journey through time. We also met sensei’s friends and heard interesting moments from his life. During the Gasshuku, the examinations for the Dan (Black Belt) degree were held and 58 candidates took part. The examiner was sensei Wlodzimierz Kwiecinski, the jury consisted of Justo Gomez and Rytis Bublevičius. At the same time the 3rd „Goodwill Tournament” of the Polish Traditional Karate Union was held. The tournament was attended by athletes from junior to senior age.
